I'm Back!

Adora ate a ton for dinner tonight--4 oz. of squash, a tablespoon of rice, 2.5 ounces of milk from a bottle, and then, she nursed a little! Maybe she'll sleep through the night (wishful thinking)!

Below are some pictures from the Houston trip that Adora and I took the 14-21.

This is her first airplane flight--she slept almost the whole time!

Uncle Jonathan did an awesome job feeding Adora. Sometimes, she was too hungry to eat, so I had to nurse her first :)

This was one of Adora's favorite places to be--on Uncle Jonathan's shoulders. She would pull his hair and slobber all over it. Fun stuff!

SMU fan! This is a new face for her--she looks scared, but she didn't seem scared. I'm not sure what it's all about.

Adora loves her Mawmaw & Pawpaw!

We took Adora to the zoo--it looks like she is petting the goat, but I am pretty sure Aunt Julie didn't let her. I was worried about freak animal germs--is that weird? Adora's favorite part of the zoo was the part that had an aquarium. She loves watching fish swim! I took her to the Houston Aquarium the next day, and she LOVED it! She kicked her legs in the Baby Bjorn the whole time :)

This is Adora's first slide. She kind of just went with the flow. Since then, she's been sliding with Daddy a couple of times. Still no reaction, though!

Adora looks a little confused about what we're doing--we're flying back to Wichita Falls, sweetheart!

And what would this blog be without a video at the end? This is really short--it was going to be a photo, but the camera was in video mode. I decided to keep it because her little kick is so cute!

So, starting this blog actually motivated me to upload more recent photos from my camera to the computer. What that means is you actually get to see somewhat recent photos of Adora!

Jake has been begging me to start one. . . .

Hi friends and family! Jake has been begging me to start a blog so I can share photos, videos, and news about Adora for a long time now, and I finally feel up to starting one, which is not to say that I will be very good at keeping it updated! Adora is doing really well. She is almost six-months-old now, which seems surreal to me. On one hand, it feels as if she were just born--on the other, it seems as if she's been around forever!






A typical morning with Adora:
5:15--Adora wakes to nurse and snuggle/sleep with me
6:30--Adora wakes for real and wakes Jake and me up--we play with her in bed (sometimes Jake sleeps while I play with her)
6:45--Adora plays with her toys on the blanket so I can eat breakfast; she rolls all over the place
7:15--Adora and I go for a walk; Jake comes sometimes if he has enough time before work
7:45--Adora and I play
8:00--Adora naps--so do I!
8:30--Adora wakes, we play together or run errands



Adora usually takes about four 30-minute naps a day. She goes to bed between 6:00 and 7:00 and wakes up about 3-10 times a night! Needless to say, I'm always sleep deprived, even on the weekends when Jake lets me catch up a bit by getting up with Adora during the night.



Adora and I just got back from her first trip (besides our move)! We flew to Houston and visited Jonathan and Julie for a week. My mom and stepdad drove out for the weekend. We had a GREAT time. Adora did just as well away as she does at home. She really enjoyed all of the new sights and sounds. Flying was so much easier than driving with her, although it probably took just about as long from start to finish. I'm really glad we went! We are planning another trip this weekend to Oklahoma City to visit the Yandles!



Here's a video of Adora's first food. In retrospect, I should've made the rice cereal a little thicker. I think she was having trouble manipulating it because it was so runny, but that's how the "books" said to make it for baby's first taste! She LOVES eating--she's had rice cereal, oatmeal, green beans, carrots, zucchini, avocado, plantains, potatoes, & water chestnuts. This video is from a little over a month ago.
